[ Friends ] Open Question : How to make this NOT a date?

I have this guy friend, and I think he's attracted to me but I don't feel
the same way...and I'm not really attracted to him. He is friends with me
too, he doesn't only feel the attraction towards me, which is good I
guess. Anyways, we're going to get 'brunch', and it'll just be us 2, and
he's driving because I can't at the moment. He's never tried to make a
move on me, and all the time I just hope that he never will. But he has
confessed his feelings for me in the past and I never retaliated. I'm kind
of afraid he might have feelings for me again, and with us going to
brunch, I don't want anything to be awkward, but just 2 friends hanging
out. He told me he got rejected by a previous girl he had feelings for,
now I just don't know what to do or say to him without him thinking that
he is a good guy but just not the guy for me. Also I don't want people in
public thinking he's my boyfriend. I will pay for my own meal, so that's
one thing I'll do to make it not a date. is there anything else????? I
don't want to lose him as a friend.
